We Are Moving & God is Amazing!
Heartland Lakes Christian School has had an adventurous first year full of firsts and unexpected happenings. We had our first quarter, first semester, first year, first annual kickball tournament, first Christmas program, and first student-led pep rally. Just as we were finding our rhythm, COVID-19 through a wrench in our year causing us to teach our students via distance learning. With limited resources, gracious parents, and phenomenal students, we were able to finish out our year strong. We have learned much and are very much looking forward to the 2020/2021 school year. God has been gracious to us all!
With the vast majority of our current students returning next year as well as new students enrolling, we are expecting to grow. As a result, we are having to move to a new location that will be able to handle our increased student enrollment. Again, God has shown his mercy and provision for the work we are doing. Pinewood Church of Menahga, MN has been so gracious to offer up their church for HLCS to use during the week. They have a beautiful property, both inside and out, just north of Menahga on Highway 71. There is plenty of room outside for our students to play. We are very excited and are already moving our supplies over.
We do realize; however, that this move could make transportation difficult for some. This issue was our only reservation for this new location, but God has been working for us behind the scenes. Pastor Brian of the Cowboy Church just out of Detroit Lakes has donated us a school bus. Jackie Kruger, our K-2 teacher, has 6 years experience driving bus and is willing to drive the bus to pick up and drop off students in Osage and Park Rapids at designated points. Lastly, Pastor Paul from Grace Community Church in Osage has agreed to be a substitute bus driver. It is beyond amazing how God has orchestrated all of this on our behalf and it is encouraging knowing that God is behind the work we are doing.

Heartland Lakes Christian School is very thankful to all of those who have supported us financially and in prayer. The amount of support and encouragement we have received has been phenomenal. We have felt very clearly the love of our brethren. Thank you and may the Lord above bless you with his rich mercy and grace!
